Man has learned many things in order to survive on the face the earth. One of the essential discoveries of man is fire. Ever since the discovery of fire, man has been using it to warm himself; cook his food and to protect himself from wild animals or creatures existing during those days. At present time, fire continuously plays a vital role in our survival. It is still used to give warmth, especially to those living in the Northern Hemisphere, Europe, Russia, the Far East and the Middle East. These regions experience winter in a given number of months. Therefore, fire is useful in these places.
In the 20th and 21st century, man still needs heat for warmth but has now added some innovations into the old process. Now there are electric heaters and gas heaters. The West and most part of the globe use electric heaters and gas heaters instead of fire heaters. Fire is still used and still the most reliable source of heat when you are in outdoors. Recently, gas heaters are becoming more popular especially in US, Russia, Europe, parts of China and even Latin America. Utility companies and service companies distribute gas used in these heaters through pipes. These pipes are regularly checked for safety measures. This allows gas to be pumped into homes just like phone services and electricity. The billing of the gas used is also much like the mentioned services, which is sent every month. However, are gas heaters safer than electric and firewood heaters?
Gas heaters are very safe. The basic way Gas is obtained is, through secured pipes in-built into the house. All the resident needs to do is turn on the burner and light it. This will be now the source of heat in the house. Unlike in firewood heaters, one needs to regularly check if there are wood or charcoal to keep the fire burning. The charcoals and firewood are available for purchase but if you are in outdoor, you must get out and chop a wood. This task is very dangerous to people not accustomed to firewood chopping.
Firewood heaters also produce smoke in the air, which can be a health hazard. Smoke particles may cause long complications. These firewood heaters can have the same effects as cigarette smoke. Smokes from fireplaces linger around the house and is absorbed by curtains, walls, ceilings, clothes and furniture giving that murky and “smoky” odor that is very hard to remove. Firewood heaters also produce soot. Soot is a byproduct of smoke and can ruin beautiful ceiling and walls. Gas heaters are the solution to this they release a little or no smoke at all. This makes your home warm without the bad odor and discoloration of walls.
Electric heaters are also common but there is the danger of getting electrocuted if there is a faulty wiring or short circuit in the system. Faulty wiring may also be the cause of fire burning down your homes and endangering the lives of those who are in it.
